The endoprosthesis is made from a multidirectional supple and elastic material. It has an inter-vertebral portion (5) and two pairs of lugs (6) on either side of it forming deep recesses (9) to receive the apophyses of adjacent vertebrae. The pairs of lugs have converging inner surfaces, and each lug forms 25 - 35 per cent of the prosthesis' width. The prosthesis has at least one through channel (7) for a tie to fasten it in place.
