PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a gene capable of producing 5-anhydroglucitol dehydrogenase useful for a testing reagent, etc., for early diabetes in a large amount at a low cost by encoding a protein, etc., comprising a specific amino acid sequence. SOLUTION: This gene is capable of encoding (A) a protein comprising an amino acid sequence represented by formula I, (B) a protein capable of encoding a protein comprising an amino acid sequence in which one or plural amino acids are deleted, substituted or added in the amino acid sequence represented by formula I and having a 5-anhydroglucitol dehydrogenase activity. The gene comprises (C) a DNA comprising a base sequence represented by base Nos. 210-1,710 in a base sequence represented by formula II or (D) a DNA comprising a base sequence in which one or plural bases are deleted, substituted or added in the base sequence represented by formula II and capable of encoding the protein having the above activity. Furthermore, a recombinant protein is preferably produced by culturing a transformant comprising a recombinant vector containing the gene. |
