DRIVING METHOD OF SOLID STATE IMAGE PICKUP DEVICE

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a driving method of a solid state image pickup device which can obtain the output that is accurately corresponding to the incident light in a full pixel output mode which is shifted from a thinning output mode. SOLUTION: This driving method of a solid state image pickup device is provided with plural photoelectric transducers 1, a vertical transfer part 2 which reads out the signal charge and transfers it in the vertical direction, a horizontal transfer part 3 which reads out the signal charge and transfers it in the horizontal direction and an output amplifying part 4 which outputs the signal charge. When a thinning output mode where only the signal charge of some transducers 1 are outputted is shifted to a full pixel output mode where the signal charge of all transducers 1 are outputted, the signal charge of all transducers 1 are read out at the part 2 before storage of the 1st signal charge is started in the full pixel output mode.
