PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To make complete a whole sky search procedure possible to be completed in its earlier stages than hitherto. SOLUTION: Information, such as satellite number, reception time, the reception level or the like of a GPS satellite whose signal is received by a GPS signal reception part 12, is memorized in a reception history memory part 26. When a whole sky search is required, a reception control operation part 22 determines the order and the frequency of the search in the case of a whole sky search based on a reception history memorized on the reception history memory part 26, and controls the operation of the GPS signal reception part 12 according to the result.
