PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To enhance the stability of the characteristics and performance of a deflection yoke and a cathode-ray tube using it and to reduce the manufacturing costs by fixing a saddle-form vertical deflecting coil to the separator of the deflection yoke without using a hot melt process. SOLUTION: A saddle-form vertical deflecting coil 4 is fixed to a separator 18 of a deflection yoke by engaging the coil 4 at its bent part by engaging pawls 19 and 20 provided on the outer surface of the separator 18, and a hold- down projection to cover the side edges of the saddle-form coil mounted on the outside of the separator 18 is formed on a spacer installed in that part on the outer surface of the separator 18 contacting with the parts between a plurality of such saddle-form coils, and the side edges of each coil 4 are held down by the hold-down projection.
