PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To fix a deflection yoke or a neck assembly certainly to the neck of a cathode-ray tube using a fastening band without giving a mechanical damage (flaw, crack, etc.), to the neck when the band is tightened. SOLUTION: A deflection yoke is equipped with a rear cover 10 having a cylindrical fit-in part 12 to be fitted on the neck of the body of cathode-ray tube and a fastening band 14 wound on the periphery of the fit-in part 12 and fixing the rear cover 10 to the neck, wherein the inside circumference 12b of the fit-in part is formed in a genuine circle in tracing the outside shape of the neck in the specified position on the fit-in part 12 where the band 14 is wound, and the periphery 12c of the fit-in part is formed elliptically in compliance with the band shape when the band 14 is tightened.
