A light guide panel for an LCD(Liquid Crystal Display) backlight unit and a backlight unit for an LCD using the same are provided to reduce a defect rate of the light guide panel and increase a production yield by constructing and disposing dots such that transformation of a stamp used to form a dot prism is facilitated. A body part(300) includes a side surface(301) on which light is incident, and a front surface(303) and a back surface(305) connected to the side surface and emitting the light. Front prisms(310) are disposed at the front surface, and have a predetermined sectional shape. Dots(320) having various shapes are disposed at regular intervals, and the dot has a smaller width in a light incident direction and a direction parallel thereto than a width in a vertical direction. The prism contacting the dot edge among the prisms has an outer surface inclined with respect to the back surface.
