PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve a reverse rotation preventing engaging part in a cylindrical part of a rotator. SOLUTION: This reel for fishing is obtained by engaging a separate reverse rotation preventing body 6 with the interior of a cylindrical part 3a of a rotor 3 composed of a rotor and mounting and fixing the reverse rotation preventing body 6 with a plurality of screws 34 so as to provide whirl-stop. Each of engaging parts 6a composed of a plurality of claws is formed in the reverse rotation preventing body 6 made of fiber reinforced resin stainless steel, aluminum, alumite, brass or a hard chromium plated material. A supporting shaft 27 is implanted on the front side of a reel body 1 to form a small-diameter shaft on the front side of the supporting shaft 27. An engaging member 5 composed of a reverse rotation preventing claw and an urging spring 28 are fitted onto the outer periphery and prevented from slipping off with an E-ring 29. The engaging member 5 is composed of a claw part 5a and an operating part 5b. The claw part 5a is made to face to the engaging part 6a and an operating pin 25a is made to face to the operating part 5b.
