PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a polyester usable as a luminescent material, a crosslinked polyester and a polyester film, and to provide a method for producing them. SOLUTION: The polyester is an aliphatic polyester having structure in which a hydrocarbon bifunctional group is bonded to a malonyl group (-OCCH2CO-) structure derived from malonic acid by an ester bond in a repeating unit of a main chain structure. The crosslinked polyester containing aπ-n conjugated bond composed of a carbon-carbon double bond and two carbon-oxygen double bonds is obtained by making at least a part of the polyester form an intramolecular or intermolecular carbon-carbon double bond.
