PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To apply a voltage which has a larger potential difference than before to a capacitive load without making respective elements, constituting a driving circuit, high in breakdown voltage. SOLUTION: A driving circuit is equipped with an output line OUTCY which is connected to one end of the load 20, a 1st signal line OUTAY for supplying a 1st potential higher than a reference potential, a 2nd signal line OUTBY for supplying a 2nd potential lower than the reference potential and a 3rd potential further lower than the reference potential, and a potential supply circuit 30 which is connected to the 1st signal line and supplies a 4th potential (-Vy) lower than the reference potential to the 1st signal line; and the 4th potential lower than the reference potential is supplied from the potential supply circuit to the 1st signal line to hold the 2nd signal line connected to the 1st signal line through a capacitor at the 3rd potential, which is applied to the capacitive load from the 2nd signal line.
