<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a display device which is hardly restricted to usage environment and has proper visibility as compared with conventional types. <P>SOLUTION: The display device has liquid crystal display elements 10a to 10c, and organic EL elements 20a to 20c disposed corresponding to the liquid crystal display elements and on display surface sides of the respective liquid crystal display elements. The liquid crystal display elements 10a to 10c and organic EL elements 20a to 20c are disposed, without overlapping each other, when viewed from the display surface side of the display device. The display device detects the lightness of the usage environment with an optical sensor, determines which of the liquid crystal display elements and organic EL elements is the element to display an image, on the basis of a predetermined signal output by the optical sensor, and performs on/off control over a drive IC which drives the liquid crystal display elements and organic EL elements. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2008,JPO&INPIT |
