A navigation server for providing a navigation device with information of high necessity in view of guidance for the user at an appropriate timing. The navigation server (100) recognizes the starting position p1 and the destination position p2 of the user on the basis of communication with the navigation device (200). The navigation server (100) sets a support route R connecting the starting position p1 and the destination position p2 according to support navigation map information. A first link group Gr1 of n links (n=2) the first link of which is out of a first area S1 from the starting position p1 among the links constituting the support route R are extracted and recognized by the navigation device (200). Under the condition that the current position pt of the user is in the k-th link (kn) from the last link of an i-th link group Gri, an (i+1)-th link group Gri+1 subsequent to the i-th link group Gri are extracted and recognized by the navigation device (200).
