摘要 <P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To suppress the generation of ammonia causing the deterioration of the performance of a fuel cell by removing nitrogen remaining in a fuel reforming apparatus after reducing a catalyst. <P>SOLUTION: A pretreatment method for the fuel reforming apparatus 2 equipped with a reformer 11 and a carbon monoxide converter 12 includes a reduction process for supplying a reducing gas into the fuel reforming apparatus 2 and a purge process for purging a gas remaining in the fuel reforming apparatus 2 by supplying a purge gas containing neither of nitrogen and oxygen to the fuel reforming apparatus 2 after the reduction process.
