[PROBLEMS] To provide a novel anti-tumor agent. [MEANS FOR SOLVING PROBLEMS] Disclosed are: an ester derivative of koningic acid (a compound shown below; wherein R represents an organic group); a pharmaceutical composition comprising at least the compound; and an anti-tumor agent comprising koningic acid or an ester derivative thereof. Koningic acid or an ester derivative thereof can prevent a tumor by administering it to a human body, another mammal or the like in an effective amount. When an ester derivative of koningic acid is used, the ester derivative can particularly reduce erythrocytic toxicity to a low level and therefore produces reduced adverse side effects.
