PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a design support system and a paper conveyance simulation method capable of specifying an area where jam does not occur and performing optimal design. SOLUTION: Behaviors that paper is conveyed in a conveyance path comprising a conveyance guide and a conveyance roller are simulated. The design support system is provided with a conveyance path definition S101, movement condition setting S102, paper model creation S103, a conveyance condition setting S104, a jam condition setting means S105, and conveyance state calculation S105. Also, the system is provided with jam occurrence determination S108 for determining the occurrence of jam, a first moving means for moving a member to be moved when the jam does not occur, and a boundary area specification determination S110 for determining whether a boundary area of jam occurrence is specified when the jam occurs. The system is also provided with a second moving means for moving a member to be moved when the boundary area is not specified and a result display S112 for displaying the specified boundary area when the boundary area is specified.
