<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a duct type hollow structure easily adjusting settings such as a pressure loss and an air cleaning capacity according to changes in conditions such as the type and concentration of pollutant and a wind speed, and easily replacing and cleaning an air cleaning means such as photocatalyst and adsorbent at an appropriate time; and an air cleaning method using the same. <P>SOLUTION: This duct type hollow structure is provided with a hollow structure body 2 having an air passage, and a pollutant removing member 3 attachably/detachably disposed inside the hollow structure body 2 in approximately parallel to the circulating direction of air.
