PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a production method of salicylic acid in Escherichia coli with high productivity.SOLUTION: We performed the screening of isochorismic acid synthetase (ICS) suitable for the biosynthesis of salicylic acid in Escherichia coli for various species. As a result, we found out that MenF derived from Escherichia coli is a most efficient ICS on enabling salicylic acid production, and also found out that in Escherichia coli, salicylic acid productivity thereof can be improved by further 5 times or more by exogenously expressing a fusion protein in which PchB binds to the carboxy terminus of the MenF.SELECTED DRAWING: None |
