A data recovery method and apparatus. The method comprises: a primary storage device receiving a data recovery request sent by a host (S101); according to an identifier of a snapshot where the data needing to be recovered is located, mounting a first snapshot in a backup storage device (S102); according to the identifier of the snapshot where the data needing to be recovered is located, the primary storage device determining a second snapshot stored in the primary storage device (S103), wherein the second snapshot is an available snapshot; the primary storage device determining first recovery data which is in the data needing to be recovered and is shared in the first snapshot and the second snapshot (S104); and the primary storage device providing the first recovery data of the second snapshot and second recovery data of the first snapshot for the host (S105). The method and apparatus can reduce the management complexity of a host, and improve the security of data in a backup storage device, thereby improving the recovery speed thereof. |
