PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a portable device capable of performing reliable optical detection of a sample in a body fluid at high measurement accuracy.SOLUTION: A device 110 detects at least one sample in a body fluid. The device includes a test element 120 having a two-dimensional evaluation area. The device further includes a spatial optical detector having a plurality of pixels. A detector 138 is designed to copy a part of the test element 120 on an image area 148. A part of the evaluation area 136 is copied on an evaluation image area 150. The detector 138 is conformed to the test element 120 such that a predetermined minimum number of pixels are provided in each dimension within the evaluation image area 150. The pixels are provided in a two-dimensional matrix arrangement. The matrix arrangement has lines of pixels and rows of pixels, the lines of pixels being provided so as to be substantially parallel with a longitudinal axis of the evaluation area 136 and/or the evaluation image area 150.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1 |
