The present invention provides a method for producing a catalyst that is used for a vapor-phase catalytic ammoxidation reaction of propane. This method comprises: a blending step for obtaining a starting material blended liquid by dissolving or dispersing a starting material; a first drying step for obtaining a dried material by drying the starting material blended liquid; a firing step for obtaining a composite oxide having a specific composition by firing the dried material; an impregnation step for obtaining a composite oxide after impregnation by impregnating the composite oxide with a solution that contains at least one specific element selected from the group consisting of tungsten, molybdenum, tellurium, niobium, vanadium, boron, bismuth, manganese, iron, antimony, phosphorus and rare earth elements; and a second drying step for drying the composite oxide after impregnation. At least one of the impregnation step and the second drying step is a step for impregnating or drying the composite oxide or the composite oxide after impregnation, while stirring the composite oxide or the composite oxide after impregnation with a specific stirring power. |
