A recording apparatus has a controller that controls a conveying roller and a discharge roller for conveying a recording medium. The controller controls the rotation phases of the conveying roller and the discharge roller when the recording medium leaves the conveying roller before the recording medium enters the conveying roller.

1. A recording apparatus comprising:
a recording head configured to record an image on a recording medium; a first conveying roller that is disposed upstream of the recording head in a conveying direction of a recording medium and conveys a recording medium; a second conveying roller that is disposed downstream of the recording head in the conveying direction and conveys a recording medium; wherein a recording medium is conveyed intermittently in a first conveying state in which the recording medium is conveyed by the first conveying roller and the second conveying roller and in a second conveying state in which the recording medium is conveyed by the second conveying roller after the trailing edge of the recording medium is detached from the first conveying roller; and a correcting unit that corrects a conveyance amount in an intermittent conveying operation where a conveying state is switched from the first conveying state to the second conveying state, based on a first correction value corresponding to rotation phases of the first conveying roller to correct a conveyance amount of the first conveying roller and a second correction value corresponding to rotation phases of the second conveying roller to correct a conveyance amount of the second conveying roller.
