To manufacture an electronically synchronisable display device, the pointer of which can be rotated between a zero stop and a scale end via a multi-step transmission by means of a stepping motor, the stepping motor exhibiting a two-pole rotor of magnetisable material, two coils arranged perpendicularly to one another and a housing enclosing the coils and being activatable by microprocessor, a method is proposed which is characterised by the fact that - a stepping motor with non-magnetisable rotor, a transmission and a pointer with a torsion spring acting in the direction of the scale end are assembled, - the pointer is brought to rest against a zero stop by means of a torque applied from outside against a restoring force of the torsion spring, - the rotor of the stepping motor is rotated in the direction of the zero stop of the pointer by means of a rotating magnetic field entraining the transmission wheels until there is no further play in the transmission, and - the rotor is held in the position reached and then magnetised in a predetermined angular alignment.
