<p>PURPOSE:To obtain the rotary head information recording and reproducing device capable of ternary multiplex transmission of head changeover signals even in a multihead system and reducing ports at the same time. CONSTITUTION:The rotary head information recording and reproducing device is operated to multiplex the changeover signals for individual head couples by a master control IC 1 to generate a multiplexed changeover signal (C), and this multiplexed changeover signal (C) is transmitted to an R/P IC 2. At the same time, changeover signal phase information (D) of mode distinction is transmitted through an existent serial bus, and based on this phase information on the side of the R/P IC 2, mode distinction changeover signals (K and L) are separated and reproduced. At this time, it is not necessary to provide newly a transmission means for transmitting the phase information (D) but only to provide a transmission means for the multiplexed changeover signal (C), and the number of ports is limited to a min. in the multihead system.</p> |
