PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent a car stopper from being broken readily even if an automobile or the like collides against it by providing an activation means which comprises a car stopper main body and a storage chamber and which imparts a downward tensile force to a tying member tied to approximately the center of the bottom surface of the car stop main body. SOLUTION: One end of a rope 15 serving as a tying member is tied to an annular hook 10c provided at the center of the raised bottom face of a car stopper main body 10. The other end of the rope 15 is sucured to a fastening 13 provided on the inner wall surface of a storage chamber 11, and a coil spring 18 serving as an activation means is stretched between rings 16, 17 which are tied to the part of the rope 15 near its center and to the other end, respectively. When a car stopper 1 is installed, the spring 18 is held silently elongated, and its compressive force causes a downward tensile force to work on the rope 15, keeping the car stopper main body 10 in a predetermined upright position. Also, since the car stopper main body 10 is simply exerted with the downward tensile force on its bottom surface, it is inclined readily when exerted with a strong external force on its side, and resists damage and deformation. When the external force is removed, the car stopper main body 10 can be restored to its original upright state by the downward tensile force. |
