<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a scheduling method for improving network performance by achieving speed required for high-speed ATM scheduling by adjusting each burst connection period independently of the weight of VC while using a scaling coefficient. SOLUTION: A scaling coefficient S is specified so as to become a value for which the maximum weight is divided by allowable maximum burst. For example, VC1 , VC2 , VC3 and VC4 have weight 3, 5, 1 and 2 and when S is defined as 2, these VC respectively have the burst of 1, 2, 1 and 2 cells. Concerning the VC arranged in an active queue 30, the VC1 is processed and '1' is subtracted form a counter to which the same number as the weight 3 of VC1 is set. Next, the VC2 is processed and '2' is subtracted from a VC2 counter. Afterwards, processing is similarly performed until the counter turns '0' and all the VC are moved to a wait queue 40. The empty active queue 30 becomes the wait queue and the wait queue 40 becomes the active queue.</p> |
