DYEING OF TEXTILE PRODUCT COMPRISING MELAMINE FIBER AND CELLULOSE FIBER

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a dyed product with chambray-like appearance by dyeing in a dyeing bath the cellulose fiber of a blend fabric comprising melamine fiber and cellulose fiber. SOLUTION: A dyeing bath is fed with a heat-resistant, flame-retardant fabric comprising 20-50 wt.% of melamine/formaldehyde fiber prepared by condensation reaction between formaldehyde and melamine in a molar ratio of the former to the latter of 2 and natural or synthetic cellulose fiber such as cotton, rayon, bast fiber, cellulose acetate fiber or leaf fiber, and the fabric is dyed with one or more dyes selected from the group consisting of direct dye, azo dye, naphthol dye, reactive dye, vat dye, disperse dye and sulfur dye at 90-130 deg.C for 60 min to effect substantial no dyeing of the melamine fiber while dyeing of the cellulose fiber alone, thus obtaining the objective dyed textile product with chambray-like appearance.
