FIELD: organic chemistry. SUBSTANCE: invention describes a method of synthesis of 1-aryl(alkyl)-2-magnesium halogen(60)-fullerenes of the general formula (I) <EMI ID=0.317 HE=36 WI=36 TI=CHI> where n = 1-4; C<SB>60</SB> - new allotropic carbon modification; R is Ph, p-C<SB>6</SB>H<SB>13</SB>, p-C<SB>7</SB>H<SB>19</SB> characterized in that toluene fullerene-C<SB>60</SB> solution is interacted with an excess of ether solution of aryl(alkyl)magnesium halide RMgHal where R is Ph, p-C<SB>6</SB>H<SB>13</SB>, p-C<SB>7</SB>H<SB>15</SB>; Hal is Br, Cl at mole ratio = 1:(60-120) in the presence of zirconacene dichloride (Cp<SB>2</SB>ZrCl<SB>2</SB>) as a catalyst taken at amount 1-3 mole% with respect to RMgHal. Reaction is carried out in argon atmosphere at the room temperature under normal pressure for 8-12 h. Synthesized fullerenes can be used in fine organic and organometallic synthesis and products of their functionalization - as physiologically active substances, extractants, sorbents, addition agents, photosensitive materials.
