The problem with data communication, localization and navigation is that a receiver receives several transmitter signals and a transmitter must then be identified. An acquisition method and a device for carrying out said method are thus provided. According to the inventive method, the spread sequence received is correlated with the frequency f, whereby f is the frequency of the incoming spread sequence. The spread sequence thus received is stored and processed with an oversampling rate i*f. Said spread sequence is divided into i sections and correlation is performed in i steps.
