<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To purify effectively and at a low cost the contaminated underground water containing trichloroethylene or dichloroethylene of high concentration. SOLUTION: In the method for treating the contaminated underground water containing at least trichloroethylene, the method includes the first process in which a hydrogen peroxide aq. soln. 6 is added to the contaminated underground water under UV irradiation 5 and the second process 7 in which the trichloroethylene or the dichloroethylene flowing out from the first stage is adsorbed with biological activated carbon, and the trichloroethylene or the dichloroethylene is decomposed by using the unreacted hydrogen peroxide flowing out from the first stage as an oxygen source.</p> |
