PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent the damaging of a first and/or second disk caused by the contact of the second with the first, even when the second disk is inserted into a device having the first disk housed therein. SOLUTION: An inlet 21b and an outlet 21c are provided in a front panel 20 attached to a casing 10, and when a second disk D2 is inserted into the inlet 21b of the front panel 20 while a first disk D1 is driven in the casing 10, the first disk DI is ejected from the outlet 21c, and the second disk D2 is driven. Like this, disks are replaceable. An optical sensor 30 is provided to detect the partial insertion of the second disk D2 inserted into the inlet 21b, and based on a detecting signal outputted from this optical sensor 30, the driving of the first disk D1 is stopped.
