<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a liquid crystal display device and a method for manufacturing the device in which alignment abnormality in liquid crystal molecules is not caused or the picture quality does not deteriorate. SOLUTION: The liquid crystal display device comprises a TFT substrate 1 on which thin film transistors(TFTs) as active elements are formed, a counter substrate 2 on which a common electrode common for each pixels is formed, and a liquid crystal layer 115 formed by filling the gap between substrates. In this device, the TFT substrate 1 consists of a transparent substrate 100 and the following layers successively formed on the substrate. The layers are a lower light-shielding film 101, base film 102, TFT, first interlayer insulating film 107, line metal film 108, second interlayer insulating film 109, third interlayer insulating film 111, flattening film 112, transparent electrode film 113 and alignment film 114. The counter substrate 2 consists of a transparent substrate 118 and a transparent electrode 117 and an alignment film 116 successively formed on the substrate. The flattening film 112 consists of a transparent acrylic resin which does not absorb light at >=300 nm wavelength.</p> |
