An authentication system capable of realizing a proper authentication while warranting the best convenience for a customer. In a television (TV) which can be connected with the Internet, there is packaged a first communication terminal (PD1), through which the customer can communicate with an authentication administering company (BS). This authentication administering company (BS) is exemplified by a communication service company, and administers the authentication for a plurality of commodity servicing companies (SP1 to SP3) in response to the commodity purchasing situations in the television (TV). The authentication levels for the authentication administrations are set to simplify the procedures properly.
