<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an exposure head in which a required quantity of light can be obtained through a simple arrangement even when an EL element is employed in a light source, and to provide an image forming apparatus employing it. <P>SOLUTION: An organic EL emission layer 10, and a flexible substrate 70 arranged with light emitting parts 4 formed by ball lenses 13 applied to the front surface thereof are bent arcuately. Curvature of the substrate 70 is selected such that n light emitting parts 4 arranged in the same row in the subscanning direction are directed toward an exposure position S on a photosensitive body 41 and a beam 15 is focused at the exposure position S. More specifically, a line connecting the organic EL emission layer 10 and the exposure position S is set to become the optical axis of the ball lens 13. Since the angleθb between the optical axis of the lens and the optical axis of the organic EL emission layer 10 becomes smaller than that when a planar substrate is employed, utilization efficiency of light is enhanced. m light emitting parts 4 are arranged in the main scanning direction. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2005,JPO&NCIPI</p> |
