PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To make the data amount of compressed image data to be a desired amount. SOLUTION: An image processor is provided with a storing part for preliminarily storing candidates for a plurality of compression conditions obtained by combining resolution and the number of colors; an image reading part (step S01) for inputting image data; a candidate-determining means (step S06) for determining one candidate among the plurality of stored candidates, a resolution-converting part (step S07) for converting resolution of the inputted image data into resolution specified by the determined candidate, a color-converting part (step S08) for converting the number of colors of the inputted image data into the number of colors specified by the determined candidate, and a compressing part (step S09) for compressing the image data that have been subjected to resolution conversion and color conversion.
