<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a vacuum type booster capable of reducing a servo ratio of a low load servo area to approximately 1. <P>SOLUTION: A reaction force from a reaction member 34 is divided, transmitted to a front shaft 32a of a plunger 32 via a contact member 33, and transmitted to a flange 32b of the plunger 33 via a spring unit 40. The spring unit 40 comprises a first tubular holding member 41 assembled to the front shaft 32a of the plunger and engaged with the reaction member 43 at a front end with the same diameter as the outside diameter of the reaction member 43, a second holding member 42 assembled to an outer periphery of its rear end and engaged with the flange 32b at a rear end extending backward from the first holding member 41, and a Belleville spring 43 assembled to the outer periphery of the first holding member 41 and held between the holding members 41 and 42.
