PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a container terminal and a container terminal system capable of reducing waiting time of a visitor chassis and a private chassis as much as possible by smoothly delivering a container to the visitor chassis in the case wherein entrance of the visitor chassis into a container yard is prohibited to smooth the work with a remote controlled loading machine. SOLUTION: A fence 20 for limiting entrance of the visitor chassis 7b into a storage area 6a is provided between the storage area 6a of the container yard 6 and a delivery area 6b for delivering between the visitor chassis 7b, and a buffer area 21 is provided to temporarily place a container 5 on the storage area side of the fence 20. On the basis of a working plan, the private chassis 7a temporarily places the container 5 in a delivery area 21o of the buffer area 21, regardless of visit of the visitor chassis 7b, and the visitor chassis 7b transports the container 5 temporarily placed in the buffer area 21.
