A cathode catalyst for a fuel cell is provided to obtain excellent activity and selectivity to reduction of an oxidant, thereby improving the quality of a membrane-electrode assembly and a fuel cell system using the same. A cathode catalyst(53) for a fuel cell comprises a compound represented by the formula of A-B-Ch, wherein A is a metal selected from the group consisting of Pt, Ru, Rh and a combination thereof; B is a metal selected from the group consisting of Bi, Pb, Tl, Sb, Sn, In, Ga, Ge and a combination thereof; and Ch is an element selected from the group consisting of S, Se, Te and a combination thereof. The compound of A-B-Ch comprises 15-50 atom% of A, 30-40 atom% of B and 10-45 atom% of Ch. |
