An output control apparatus and a control method thereof are provided to keep a high output even during high speed travel of a vehicle by reducing the length of an air intake path even when the pressure of a vacuum chamber is removed. An output control apparatus includes a throttle valve adjustment gear(50), a rack gear(60), a sun gear(70), a first rail(80), a second rail(90), and a driving unit. The throttle valve adjustment gear adjusts the opening of a throttle valve. The rack gear operates a flow adjustment bar in a surge tank. The sun gear is engaged selectively with one of the throttle valve adjustment gear and the rack gear. The first rail permits the sun gear to be engaged with the throttle valve adjustment gear. The second rail permits the sun gear to be engaged with the rack gear. The driving unit drives the sun gear to the first rail or the second rail.
