<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a gas sensor further improving the function of protecting a detecting section, with which its multi-structure protector is equipped essentially. <P>SOLUTION: The protector 6 has at least a double structure composed of an inner first cylindrical part 6b and an outer second cylindrical part 6a, and a guide member 6a3 is disposed at a second-side gas entrance 63 formed on the side wall section of the second cylindrical part 6a. The guide member 6a3 has the function of causing a gas to be measured EG to generate a swirl so as to surround the outer surface of the side wall section of the first cylindrical part 6b. Relatively weighty water/oil droplets are separated from relatively light gases and pressed onto the inner surface of the side wall section of the second cylindrical part 6a by a centrifugal force generated along with the rotational flow. Accordingly, even when the water/oil droplets and the like are contained in the gas to be measured EG, these water/oil droplets and the like are hard to enter the inside (detecting section D) of the first cylindrical part 6b. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2008,JPO&INPIT |
