<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a cover support mechanism capable eliminating relaxation of a stopper for restricting an opened angle of an openable cover constituting a part of the housing with respect to a housing of an electric device in a simple structure. <P>SOLUTION: There is disclosed the cover support mechanism which is adapted to restrict the opened angle of the openable front cover 1 with respect to the housing 2, the cover 1 forming the part of the housing 2 of an image forming apparatus 101. The cover support mechanism is equipped with a wire 4 and a support section 10. A first end of the wire 4 is fixed to the front cover 1. The support section 10 is provided to the image forming apparatus 101 and supports a second end of the wire. The support section 10 is equipped with a pull-in section 11, a spring 12 and a braking section 14. The pull-in section 11 has a space for pulling the second end of the wire 4 therein. The spring 12 urges the wire 4 in order to pull the wire 4 in the pull-in section 11.
