DIESEL PARTICULATE FILTER AND MANUFACTURE OF IT

PURPOSE:To restrain pressure loss in a filter to lower, and also trap particulates (carbon) over all thickness of the filter. CONSTITUTION:A ceramic fiber deposit 1 is formed by making ceramic fiber having the length of 10 to 100mm to pass a carding machine of a paper machine. The ceramic fiber deposit 1 is pinched from both sides by metallic nets 3 serving as a heater for burning trapped particulates, so as to form a filter element body 4. A particulate filter is constituted by using this filter element body.
