PURPOSE:To provide a rational and convenient publishing system of an IC card having a rewritable display function generating no mistake by putting a display function enabling rewriting display to practical use. CONSTITUTION:In an IC card having a rewritable display function wherein a CPU, an IC memory and a display part enabling rewriting display are provided to a part of a substrate, the display data written on the display part is optically read and the data corresponding to the display data is written in the IC memory and, after the normal writing of the data written in the IC memory is confirmed, the display data of the display part is erased and a mark is applied to the display data of the display part to control erasure.
