PURPOSE: To provide a BaTiO3 -based thermistor which is inexpensive, highly reliable and excellent in thermal shock resistance without failing PTC characteristics. CONSTITUTION: The title BaTiO3 -based thermistor includes Ti and/or low-grade oxides of Ti and is of a porous material with a porosity of 20 to 60%, and its electric resistance increases sharply at a temperature higher than the Curie point. This thermistor is produced by adding at least 3wt% Ti powder including at least 0.5wt% oxygen to a BaTiO3 -based semiconductor powder and sintering it. |
