<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To smoothly and surely connect/disconnect an auxiliary device by facilitating the connection/disconnection of the auxiliary device and management of a connecting means. <P>SOLUTION: The image forming apparatus 1 includes the auxiliary device 3 which is connected, via the connecting means 4, to an image forming apparatus main body 2 that performs an image forming process. The connecting means 4 includes: a freely extendable arm 17 which can be housed in an image forming apparatus main body 2 side or an auxiliary device 3 side; and arm receiving parts 18a and 18b which are disposed on the image forming apparatus main body 2 side so that the arm 17 can be engaged with these parts 18a and 18b. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2008,JPO&INPIT |
