PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent drying staining occurring on the image surface of a planographic printing plate in which silver complex salt diffusing transfer (DRT) method is utilized by humidifying the planographic printing plate while supplying steam on the image surface of the planographic printing plate. SOLUTION: The planographic printing plate 30 is carried with the image surface upward by carrying roller pairs 11, 12 and 13, air heated to about 50 deg.C by a fan heater 22 is sent on the image surface of the plate 30 by a fan 21 and the plate 30 is dried while the plate 30 passes between the roller pairs 11 and 13. A water tank 1 is set on the lower side of the plate 30, water inside the tank 1 is heated to about 80 deg.C by a panel heater 2 on the bottom of the tank 1, so that the steam is produced. The produced steam rises from the inside of the tank 1, is jetted from a slit 3, and supplied on the surface of the image surface of the plate 30. Thus, the plate 30 is humidified and dried in a state where the swelling state of a hydrophilic colloidal layer is maintained, so that the drying staining can be prevented. |
