PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a switch capable of reducing a load at opening and method for opening the same. SOLUTION: In the switch 11, a movable electrode 18 consisting of a pair of contact blades is pivoted via a driving link 33 by a lever 32, interlocking with an external operation to operate so as to open and close, thereby to be opened and/or closed with respective to a fixed electrode 15. The driving link 33 is interlocked with both contact blades with a relation between a coupling shaft 21 and an elongated hole 34. Moreover, the coupling shaft 21 is engaged with the end of the elongated hole 34, when the driving link 33 is moved by an opening operation, so as to be constituted with both contact blades being moved in a direction of separation from each other by a cam member 35, while the shaft 21 moved in an open-circuit direction. According to this constitution, an open-circuit operation is performed with a pressurizing and contacting force with respect to the fixed electrode 15 of both contact blades being weakened. Accordingly, the load at opening can be reduced.
