PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a switching device improved in arc resistant property and prolonged in life. SOLUTION: The switching device 10 has a fixed contact 16, an insulator 17, and a movable contact 15 sliding on the fixed contact and the insulator. The switching device 10 has a sliding contact formed by combining the fixed contact 16 and the movable contact 15 made of complex materials in which graphite 22 is dispersed, and the insulator 17 made of resin 24 having a low friction coefficient.
