PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an optical information recording and reproducing apparatus which can perform adjustment of each parameter correctly in a necessary minimum period, even if the apparatus is caused to vibrate or the recording medium has a scratch when adjusting each parameter at the time of starting or exchanging the recording media. SOLUTION: The optical information recording and reproducing apparatus has a vibration/scratch detection circuit 12 which detects abnormalities (vibration and optical disk scratch) of servo control. When the abnormality of the servo control is detected, adjustment processing can be performed correctly by invalidating a reproducing index which shows a grade of a reproducing signal without elongating the adjustment processing time.
