<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a composite processor, a control method therefor and a POS terminal device, not requiring complicated operation and capable of suppressing the possibility of misoperation by allowing reading a magnetic ink character of a check paper sheet and acquisition of image data of both the faces thereof by only inputting the check paper sheet once. <P>SOLUTION: This composite processor has: a conveyance route for conveying a print medium; a magnetic head disposed along one side of the conveyance route, for reading the magnetic ink character previously recorded in the print medium; a first scanner disposed along the same side as the side disposed with the magnetic head of the conveyance route, for acquiring the image data of the first face by scanning the first face of the print medium; and a second scanner disposed along the side opposite to the side disposed with the first scanner of the conveyance route, for acquiring the image data of the second face by scanning the second face of the print medium.
