<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a multi-car elevator capable of efficiently transporting passengers to each floor with other cars without stopping operations of all cars even if one car is failed. <P>SOLUTION: The multi-car elevator composed of two or more hoistways with a plurality of cars vertically moved in the same hoistway comprises a failure detection means for detecting a failure of the car 3 and the position of the failure, an operational mode changing means 7 for changing operation to degenerate operation for operating the other car in which a failure is not detected if a failure is detected, and a car stop floor allocating means 11 for allocating a car stop floor of each car between the highest or lowest floor to the position of the failure. When the operation is changed to the degenerate operation and a hall call is generated, the car which is stopped at a floor which is called by the hall call is the stop floor is allocated and operated. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2009,JPO&INPIT |
